FAQs

  • We are looking for current Grade 10, 11, and 12 students across British Columbia (or otherwise able to commute to the St. George’s Senior School campus in Vancouver, BC for all five days of the program) with demonstrated passion in business. While we encourage all students to apply and there is no strict age requirement, admissions are merit-based to ensure participants can meet the program’s demands, meaning priority will likely be given to more senior students.

All applications are reviewed by an admissions board, separate from our executive board.

  • Younger students currently in grades 8 or 9 can attend our FutureMe @ VentureLift program instead! FutureMe @ VentureLift is a 3-day personal finance summer program that provides younger students with essential financial knowledge needed to make confident, informed personal-life money decisions. FutureMe @ VentureLift also builds broadly applicable skills, such as evaluating financial risks, building equity, and managing debt, serving as an essential stepping stone into the broader VentureLift experience and more advanced business paths should students choose to continue studying business in the future.

Applications for the 2026 session of FutureMe @ VentureLift are now open, available here!

  • Yes! VentureLift is a team-based program that culminates in the Boardroom Challenge, an executive pitch competition where participants work in groups of five to develop and defend their strategic analysis. In front of a judging panel of industry leaders and senior company representatives, teams must demonstrate business acumen, defend their insights, and communicate persuasively under pressure. This high-stakes challenge is designed to simulate real-world executive decision-making and strategic problem-solving. The competition prize pool is currently set at $1,000 per winning team member.

  • Teams are formed based on the skills and roles each participant is most experienced in or wants to develop further (e.g., strategist, accountant, client management, analyst, etc.). While spots for each role are limited, you will most likely receive your first or second preferred role.

Participants can request specific team combinations and communicate their preferred roles upon acceptance into the program!

  • Admission decisions will be made on a rolling basis, with monthly waves of notifications. Accepted students will receive a direct email with confirmation and further details. Payment of the full tuition (or subsidized amount for scholarship recipients) is required to hold student seats in the program upon acceptance. We also employ a $100 cancellation fee for withdrawals from the program made 2 weeks after payment of the total tuition due has been received and notification of spot held is communicated.
